The first collection of Karl by Karl Lagerfeld is the insight into Karl’s rich personality and vision of fashion. From the interview with Hamish Bowles we get to know many interesting things about Karl Lagerfeld career path, past and recent work. When asked by Bowles about the collection, Karl explains: “It’s a graphic idea of what I like, what could be translated from me to girls”(source). The main colours that present the Karl Lagerfeld’s collection consist of his own beloved palette: black and white, silver and grey. Known as a successful designer and creative director of Chanel and Fendi, he clarifies his work for big fashion houses and the difference for his own label: “Chanel is me doing Chanel, Fendi is me doing Italy and this is me doing me, whatever that means.” (nymag.com). With his own label he came to a decision to hit mid-range market because as Karl states: “the middle class does not have enough class that I think the middle class should have”.

There is also another specialty that goes along with the collection in Net-a-Porter.com. German designer interviews…himself in the “Face to Face” video showing loads of distance to his media image and great sense of humor. It’s quite bizarre talk from its root yet it was probably set up to be as such.KarlLagerfeldinterviews himself with all range of questions, serious ones that he is very eager to talk about but he dismisses those which are uninteresting for him. The video itself is very funny but still informative.
